The Challenge

Urban Jungle is an international brand with a slick, street-smart aesthetic — but its customer experience was anything but. Its unstable Magento online storefront was costing the brand potential sales, thanks to lengthy loading times and snowballing operational challenges.

Urban Jungle wanted to work with a delivery partner they could trust—one with a track record of overcoming the odds and delivering best-in-class eCommerce experiences. That led them to Brave The Skies.

With a big focus on user-generated advertising (UGA), the brand needed a tailored approach that prioritised a culture-driven, immersive shopping experience that highlighted storytelling and community. The new storefront would need flexible and visually engaging design elements, such as customisable product cards and landing pages that cater to diverse customer personas.

As an added challenge, the client also required an adaptable design that could be tweaked to suit the high-street style of their sister brand, Hudson.

The solution

Brave the Skies helped Urban Jungle migrate to a new Shopify 2.0 storefront with technical enhancements to optimise the shopping experience.

The main priority with Urban Jungle was to migrate to a more stable platform that offered optimal site performance. The team at Brave the Skies used Moonbase 3, a lightweight internal framework, to move the client from Magento to Shopify, dramatically improving homepage performance.

Using an innovative and fully-customised design approach, we created an online presence that reflected their in-store persona.

Urban Jungle needed flexibility in their designs, so we created custom sections for products and landing pages, ensuring adaptability for seasonal or promotional updates. To streamline the shopping process at all funnel stages, we also integrated quick-buy functionality that vastly improved user experience (UX).

To reflect the brand’s street-style stores, we incorporated video integration into product pages and added carousels to engage customers and enhance storytelling. We also added a feature allowing users to toggle between thumbnails and swatches for a visually intuitive shopping experience.

A transparent approach helped Brave the Skies work collaboratively with Urban Jungle on a fully aligned design that rebuilt confidence after previous bad experiences.

Brave The Skies also partnered with Bring Digital to ensure Urban Jungle’s new site was fully optimised for SEO. Working collaboratively, they developed a bespoke strategy that safeguarded search performance throughout the migration and set the foundation for long-term growth.

The results

The new Urban Jungle site puts the customer at the centre of each part of the shopping journey. The integration of UGA on the Urban Jungle site has helped to create a visually dynamic experience that promotes community, while Hudson’s streamlined interface provides a practical, high-street-inspired design for easy navigation and purchasing.

Moving to Shopify with Moonbase 3 has significantly improved the site's speed and functionality, with a homepage score of 99/100. The integrated product management system has allowed Urban Jungle to update and manage its site independently, and the flexible design elements have created a bespoke look that encapsulates the brand’s identity.

The process has also allowed us to build a mutually trusting relationship with the client, and the positive feedback has validated the team’s collaborative and innovative approach — setting the stage for future store builds and ongoing support.

“Working with Brave the Skies has been such a positive experience. While this large-scale transition felt overwhelming at first, the team worked closely with us throughout to make sure all of our needs were met. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome, and finally feel that we have an online storefront that truly reflects who we are as a brand.”
